What items are prohibited on Uber Eats?

Please understand there are certain items that you are unable to sell or deliver through Uber’s logistics platform, which includes orders making use of Uber Eats, Postmates, Uber Direct, and Uber Connect. Unless specifically allowed in your agreement, prohibited items include:

  • Nicotine and tobacco (including vaping products, chewing tobacco, rolling papers, ZYN products and hookahs)
  • Medical equipment and devices that require a prescription
  • Nutritional hemp and CBD (any form)
  • Cannabis, cannabis derivatives or by-products, and cannabis accessories
  • Catering Menus/Catering Items
  • Delta-8 goods
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Herbal controlled substances (e.g., kava, kratom)
  • Weapons
  • Shark fin soup
  • Fireworks
  • Firearms
  • Fire starters
  • Hazardous materials
  • Live animals
  • Pipe screens
  • Regulated foods
  • Prescription drugs
  • Pornography
  • Adult toys and content
  • Endangered species
  • Lottery tickets
  • People (in relation to human trafficking, organ trafficking, or sex trafficking)
  • Drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances
  • Embargoed or recalled goods
  • Explosives
  • Government IDs and licenses
  • Illegally replicated, reproduced, or manufactured items
  • Stolen property and property with removed serial numbers
  • Law enforcement items
  • Automotive airbags
  • Damaged or defective items
  • Donations, tips, etc., to merchants or essential workers
  • Electronic surveillance equipment
  • Flammable and combustible substances and products
  • Gift cards, gift certificates, and other stored-value instruments
  • Intangible items
  • Items encouraging illegal activity or used to incite violence
  • Lockpicking and theft devices
  • Materials deemed as offensive

Certain items listed may be subject for delivery with specific constraints. Upon your request to sell or deliver an item, Uber will inform you of the applicable guardrails. You can check additional items not allowed for package delivery in Uber Connect here.

What items are restricted on Uber Eats?

Restricted items are those items which may be subject to regulatory requirements, safety standards, or which are otherwise restricted by Uber Eats. Delivery of these items through Uber Eats requires Uber’s approval. Upon your request to deliver restricted items, Uber will inform you of the applicable restrictions. Restricted items include:

  • Aerosols
  • Alcohol (make sure you meet the criteria to sell alcohol through the Uber Eats platform)
  • Coatings/paint
  • ­Cleaning agents
  • Currency, Coins, and Cash Equivalents
  • Dietary supplements
  • ­Insecticides
  • ­Behind-the-counter (BTC) medications containing certain ingredients such as Phenylpropanolamine, Ephedrine (EPH), Pseudoephedrine (PSE), Norpseudoephedrine (NPSE), or Phenylpropanolamine
  • ­Over-the-counter (OTC) medications containing certain ingredients such as Dextromethorphan
